Great news for travellers flying economy on flydubai! Starting November 2025, the Dubai-based carrier will roll out complimentary meals and in-flight entertainment (IFE) for all economy passengers, taking budget travel to a whole new level.
Entertainment for Every Traveller
Economy passengers can now enjoy a multilingual entertainment system packed with over 1,000 movies spanning Hollywood, Bollywood, Arabic, and international cinema. TV lovers will also get access to shows from HBO Max, BBC Kids, and Cartoon Network, alongside music, podcasts, games, and travel guides — perfect for keeping the journey lively, no matter where you’re flying.
A Taste of the World in Economy
Flydubai is also bringing a culinary upgrade to its economy cabins. Passengers will be served complimentary hot meals, light snacks, and beverages, featuring dishes inspired by the airline’s global network. Expect flavours from Africa, Europe, India, the Middle East, Russia, and Southeast Asia, with meals tailored to each route and flight duration.
Why This Matters for Gulf Travellers
This move reflects flydubai’s commitment to enhancing customer experience and offering more value for money. In a region where travel choices are abundant, these upgrades ensure that economy passengers don’t miss out on comfort or convenience.
“Redefining the economy class offering across all flights represents a significant evolution in our business model,” said Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai.
“Our focus remains on enhancing the customer experience and delivering added value across every touchpoint through services, technologies, and product development.”
Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer, added:
“By including meals and in-flight entertainment in every ticket, we’re giving our passengers more value while remaining competitive, especially as our network expands.”
A Growing Fleet & Better Comfort
Flydubai’s fleet is growing fast, with nine new aircraft delivered this year, bringing the total to 95 Boeing 737s. Three more are expected by year-end. Existing Boeing 737-800s are also being retrofitted with lie-flat seats in business class and upgraded economy seats for added comfort.
Looking ahead, Boeing 787 Dreamliners arriving from 2027 will open doors to long-haul routes, expanding flydubai’s reach beyond the Middle East and offering passengers more destinations and travel options.
For travellers from the UAE and the wider Gulf region, this is a welcome upgrade. Economy flyers now get a full-service experience, including meals and entertainment — no surprises, no extra costs. With Dubai being a major hub, this makes connecting flights and regional travel more convenient, comfortable, and enjoyable than ever before.
Flydubai’s move signals a shift in Gulf aviation: value-driven economy travel that doesn’t compromise on quality. If you’re flying economy this winter or planning a trip from India, Africa, or Europe through Dubai, expect a more connected and satisfying journey.
