In a landmark step for Palestinian representation in international pageantry, Nadeen Ayoub, the first Palestinian woman to compete at Miss Universe, will help select her successor as applications officially open for Miss Palestine 2026.
The Miss Palestine Organisation has launched what it describes as its first national competition in recent history, inviting Palestinian women aged 18 to 35 from Palestine and across the global diaspora to participate. The initiative marks a new chapter for Palestinian women seeking opportunities to represent their heritage, culture, and aspirations on a global stage.
Operating under the theme”Beauty Beyond Borders,” the competition aims to go beyond traditional pageantry by combining mentorship, leadership development, cultural advocacy, and personal growth. Ayoub, who placed Palestine on the Miss Universe map with her historic participation in 2025, will play a central role in guiding contestants through the selection process.
Final casting rounds are scheduled to take place in Palestine and Jordan before a grand finale in Jordan later this year. The winner will earn the opportunity to represent Palestine at the 75th Miss Universe pageant in San Juan, Puerto Rico, continuing the momentum created by Ayoub’s groundbreaking journey.
From Trailblazer to Mentor
Ayoub’s involvement carries special significance. In 2025, she became the first Palestinian delegate to participate in Miss Universe, following an already impressive international pageant career that included a Top 5 finish at Miss Earth 2022, where she earned the title of Miss Earth Water, making history as the first Palestinian contestant to win a major international pageant crown.
Raised between Palestine, the United States, and Canada, Ayoub has built a reputation that extends far beyond modeling. A graduate in Psychology and English Literature, she is also a certified wellness and nutrition coach, educator, and advocate who has consistently used her platform to amplify Palestinian voices and promote empowerment.
Speaking about the new competition, Ayoub emphasized that the programme is designed to empower Palestinian women and provide them with a platform to showcase their talents, leadership, and cultural identity on the world stage.
Building a Sustainable Legacy
The launch of Miss Palestine 2026 is about more than selecting a beauty queen. Organizers aim to establish a sustainable platform that nurtures future generations of Palestinian women through mentorship, professional development, and international exposure.
For Ayoub, the mission is deeply personal. Her own journey to international pageantry was largely self-driven, undertaken without the extensive infrastructure available to contestants from many other countries. Today, she hopes to ensure that future representatives have access to the guidance, resources, and support needed to succeed globally.
Her transition from historic contestant to mentor reflects the evolution of Palestinian participation in international pageants, moving from symbolic representation to institution-building and long-term empowerment.
As applications begin, Miss Palestine 2026 represents an opportunity for talented Palestinian women worldwide to step forward, tell their stories, and continue expanding Palestine’s presence on one of the world’s most visible international platforms.
