According to shipping data from LSEG, MarineTraffic and Kpler, the vessel Rich Starry successfully transited the strait, marking a notable moment in the ongoing standoff involving Iran.
The tanker, owned by Shanghai Xuanrun Shipping Company and operated by a Chinese crew, was placed under US sanctions in 2023 for allegedly helping Tehran bypass energy restrictions. It was previously known as Full Star.
